A child sponsorship of the Kali Ma Foundation Nepal, Inc.

Kali Ma liaise children from the lowest castes of socially “weak” families, physically disabled and orphaned children. Actually, more than 100 children are attending school. Kali Ma selects all sponsored children personally and matches them individually to the respective sponsors. She is happy, to try to accommodate the wishes for a boy or a girl to the sponsors.

Each sponsor of a school child will be receiving a document and new photographs of his sponsored child at the end of his sponsorship period. Once a year, the Kali Ma Foundation Nepal, Inc. organizes a sponsors meeting. There, Kali Ma reports extensively about the evolution and advancement of the sponsored children and their families. All sponsors receive a written invitation to the meeting.

For only 12 EURO per month you would make it possible for a school child in Nepal to have a chance for school education and a humane and dignified life. The monthly sponsorship contribution for a school child covers all necessary expenditure, such as the school fees and materials, the clothes and school bus as well as “Tiffin”, which is a warm lunch meal provided twice a week.

Kali Ma and Quasan visit regularly all sponsored children at their families and keep posted about their performance at school. Besides, Kali Ma invites by turns all sponsored children and their families to the Kali Ashram. All children like going to school and are good or very good pupils with only few exceptions. Should sponsors wish to visit their sponsored children, they are cordially welcome.

Our school children at this point of time are allocated among 4 schools in Dolalghat and surroundings. Also here, we act according to the individual necessities. Depending on the child sometimes it is better to attend classes at the home village school during the first 1 – 2 years until he/she is integrated into a school routine. Other times, wishes of the parents may be accommodated for a particular school choice. All children who attend classes at the Golden Future school, 11 km away from home, are driven there by the school bus.
Some of them come from socially extremely week family situations or are disabled. In such cases there would be no guarantee for a regular school attendance. As a solution, four children so far live in the boarding school hostel of the Golden Future school or privately with families in Dolalghat. The contribution for the lodging of these children is financed out of the donations received by the Kali Ma Foundation Nepal, Inc.
