Street lighting

In large parts of Nepal, the power supply is a big problem,
especially in the remote places. Frequently, there is no electricity
or only irregularly. Therefore, there is no street lighting.
This is a problem for persons who have to walk for an hour
or two from the principal streets up the hills back
to their homes in the mountains. Apart from the natural light
by the moon and the stars, these paths are in total darkness.
Due to the additional aspect of water shortage,
electricity is being cut several times daily during some hours.

Actually, the purchase of solar driven lamps is the only alternative
for street lighting. Currently, the Kali Ma Foundation Nepal, Inc.
is working together with the Social Club Dolalghat on a reliable concept
for street lighting in Dolalghat and surroundings.
