A warm welcome to the Newsletter of the Kali Ma Foundation Nepal, Inc.

Dear members, sponsors and friends,

For the new school year 2010/2011, 17 more children could get the chance for education too. After 8 years of continuous work – the first school sponsorships were signed in 2002 – we may say:
“yes, we have succeeded”. We all have grown together to a great community and participate in the development of our sponsored children.

This good old trade still exists here in Nepal and we certainly are pleased to support it. Thus, the school uniforms and the shoes of our sponsored children are made to measure. Taking measures before, try-on after, and when school starts, everything fits.

Eye Camp 2010
Again, we are happy to report that once more we could welcome in Dolalghat the Tilganga Eye Camp from Kathmandu. Once a year, we offer the possibility to the people in need of Dolalghat and far surroundings to take advantage of free medical examination and treatment of their eyes. The necessary operations took place in Kathmandu whereto the patients were transferred by bus. Treatment and attendance payments were ensured since the Kali Ma Foundation took care of the relevant costs.
We wish to express our thanks to the Tilganga Eye Camp for the good collaboration.

PROJECT SUPPORT
For the first time we may mention a charity initiative, with the sponsor's agreement. We are happy to announce that the Fashion Label MAYER.Peace Collection from Berlin will take over for two months the costs for the Tiffin project: a charity meal at school for our many sponsored children. MAYER.Peace Collection stands for the fusion between fashion and social engagement as well as for the transformation of recycling material. Designer Christine Mayer supports several children projects worldwide with MAYER.Peace Collection.
